Notice anything funny here? This is a political advertisement in the Russian city of Bryansk.

F-15 Eagle. Murica!

Yup.

Is it Russian Trump?

Boeing is getting aggressive in searching for new F-15 export customers it seems.

Perhaps. I’d be interested to know what it says.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 17:13 |

Simple. What it says below the F15 Eagle is, “see these, run!”.
Of course my Russian could be a little off as I can’t speak, read or write Russian.

I’ll accept your translation.

I think it is even one (with some photoshopping to remove emblems) from this FA article (Tyler lists himself for the photo credit):

Nice. Is it a not so subtle coded plea for NATO membership?

That aggressor paint job is most excellent.

Thanks. That’s very helpful.

Either that or a warning of one possible future.

I spent 2 months in Tyumen Russia for work, after being in that country for 2 months, this don’t really surprise me

I think the Soviets Russians sourced it from this Rogoway article too. Illuminati confirmed.

I think it’s pretty clearly the same photo (great catch, btw), but I’d have to question whether Tyler really took it. I suppose he could have. He did get good access.

One man’s warning is another’s hope.
BTW, how was opening night?

Yeah, I know he did some aviation photography, but I’d have expected shots like that to come from a USAF photographer. But if he got to go up to shoot those, then I will just be jealous :)

Shows went well. Did four performances and now we’re on to the next symphony concert, which is Friday and Saturday nights. No rest for the weary! Although, I only play on one piece, so I’ve got it pretty easy. And I’ve got the night off.

It’s only one venue, right? You don’t have to travel?

I don’t know, I did a GIS and that photo shows up all over the place, usually on wallpaper sites. There is even one that IDs it as an Su-35. So I’m sure the Russian graphic designer just googled “jet fighter” and thought it was a cool image. I have trouble believing it is Tyler’s image.

One hall. No travel. This is the Austin Symphony, and we play at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. I’m an extra musician, which means that I get called when one of the contract players is unavailable.

The FA one is by far the highest resolution version on GIS though.
I wish the EXIF Creator/Photographer/Author fields were widely used so proper crediting was easier (obviously subject to tampering).
Doesn’t look like this one has any immediately identifiable info in EXIF (I’m sure if you really wanted to, you could do some type of fingerprinting):

Cool. In an alternate life, I think I’d like to be one of those. But, we all make our choices.

Interesting puzzle. I’ve found the same aircraft photographed from other angles, and a version of the photo in question that looks more like artwork than a photo.

Musician was actually my second choice. I originally wanted to be a cartographer. But my HS grades sucked, and I didn’t get accepted to the colleges I needed to go to, so I did what I knew how to do.

Musician as fallback. Now that a reversal of what you usually hear. :D
It’s a great gift to make music. Glad you get to use it.

This will be a solid three-week run for the ASO. A week of ballet rehearsals ending with four shows (two on Saturday, one on Sunday), then rehearsals starting Monday for concerts Friday and Saturday, then two rehearsals on Sunday for a week of student concerts (two per day, M-F). It’s a pretty brutal schedule, though each service is only three hours. And as fortunate as we are to be doing what we love to do, like anything, there comes a point where it becomes a job , and you still get tired of doing it and would rather be home with your family. On days like these, I see my wife at breakfast, then I pass her at the door as she comes home from work and I go to rehearsal. Then I get home at 10:30 and she’s asleep on the sofa.

I hear you. If only I could win the lottery and do my job on my own time, it would be a lot more fun.
